Talk Recordings

How do cells control their size?

Recording of Dr. Evgeny Zatulovsiy's talk at the London Cell Cycle Club meeting (July, 2020)

This talk describes how cell growth dilutes a key cell cycle inhibitor RB to trigger a cell-size-dependent cell division. This provides a long-sought molecular mechanism for maintaining the cell size homeostasis in animal tissues.

More details can be found in the following publications:

Why do cells control their size?

Recording of Dr. Evgeny Zatulovsiy's talk for the ASCB|EMBO CellBio-2022 Meeting.

This talk discusses how cell size and cell growth rate (i.e. biosynthesis rate) affect gene expression, cell physiology and ageing in human cells

This work is a result of a fruitful collaboration with Michael Lanz and Josh Elias (CZ Biohub), as well as Shuyuan Zhang, Matthew Swaffer and other members of the Skotheim lab (Stanford). See a quick summary on the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub website.
